CEBAS is a multidisciplinary centre that carries out research in three related scientific-technical areas (Agricultural Sciences, Food Science and Technology, and Natural Resources). The research work in these areas is carried out in the environment of a semi-arid area with a high agricultural production, such as the Region of Murcia, which requires a continuous generation of knowledge and technological and innovative advances that allow maintaining the sustainability of the production system.

In this sense, the main objective of CEBAS is “To continue to be an international reference in research related to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and the application of technological innovations that make it possible to obtain healthy, safe and attractive plant foods for the consumer, in areas with fragile resources where soil and water conservation are particularly important”.
